Dr. John R. Zielonka B.Sc, D.C., C.O.H., A.R.T., C.C.R.D.
Dr. Zielonka is the owner and director of the Ottawa Chiropractic and Natural Health Centre located in downtown Ottawa. His background is an extensive one. He believes in a well rounded, common sense approach utilizing the latest scientific advancements in health care in order to achieve optimal health and correct the underlying cause of any specific condition. Dr. Zielonka also believes patients must be informed and take an active role in their health. Dr. Zielonka obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from York University in 1986. He obtained his doctorate of Chiropractic in 1991 from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto, considered to be one of the finest Chiropractic Colleges in the world. Since then, he has achieved many post graduate certifications.

This extensive background has allowed Dr. Zielonka to treat some of the world's best Olympic and professional athletes, car accident patients, the baby boomer looking for improved quality of life and a multitude of pediatric cases.

Over the past 15 years, Dr. Zielonka has lectured to thousands through hundreds of lectures in the Human Performance Lecture Series, designed to educate our community about optimal health, enabling them to make informed decisions and take an active role in their health.
Dr. Zielonka's community involvement has included his annual Christmas Toy Drive since 1989 and Kids Day International, an annual charitable event to raise health, safety and environmental awareness for children for which he is the director for Ottawa. Special guest appearances by the Mayor and the RCMP Emergency Rescue Team are an annual tradition.

Darlene Plouffe, C.H.A.
Darlene has been a chiropractic health assistant for over 20 years. Her experience with chiropractic started when she herself began receiving chiropractic wellness care in childhood, and developed into a desire to educate others about the benefits of chiropractic care. She has presented health lectures about Chiropractic & Pregnancy, The Ritalin Controversy, and Raising a Healthy Drug-Free Family. Her own three children have received chiropractic wellness care since birth.
Darlene’s interest in natural health care also led her to obtain a diploma in fitness and nutrition, and to become a certified Reiki practitioner. She has personally witnessed a multitude of conditions helped by chiropractic care and will gladly answer any questions you may have about your chiropractic program.

Tanya has worked in the wellness field for over ten years. She began her career as an Exercise Rehabilitation Specialist with the Ottawa Chiropractic & Natural Health Centre. Working to help rehabilitate patients through exercise therapy provided her with opportunities to develop and implement programs to meet the needs of patients with various conditions. She continually strives to promote health and wellness for her clients, family, friends and patients of the clinic. Tanya recognizes wellness as a broad and evolving industry and continues to upgrade her training by continually adding additional philosophies and methods of exercise and fitness.
Philosophy:
Holding onto her personal philosophy, “You just can’t beat the person who never gives up”, (Babe Ruth), Tanya brings her enthusiasm, professionalism, knowledge and gift of motivation to the wellness field.

Catherine Hanson, R.M.T.
Realizing society’s growing awareness and need for alternative health care, Catherine was driven towards a holistic approach of healing ~ massage therapy. After completing an extensive massage therapy program, she is now a licensed Registered Massage Therapist. And with a special interest in massage therapy research, she was the recipient of the Gold Award for the 2008 Massage Therapy Foundation Student Case Report Contest. She is a member of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO), and the Ontario Massage Therapists Association (OMTA).
Recently joining the Ottawa Chiropractic and Natural Health Centre, she is excited to complement the comprehensive, advanced and effective health care offered by OCNHC. Her expertise includes therapeutic, rehabilitative, and relaxation massage treatments and, she will create a personalized treatment plan for each of her clients that will best lead them on their own individual journey towards optimum health and wellness.
Catherine maintains an active and healthy lifestyle with yoga and cycling as her favorite pastimes. She has been involved in the fitness industry since 1992 as a group fitness instructor, leading classes specializing in high/low impact, kick-box, aquatics, spin/cycle, strength training, core stability and flexibility. Currently, she leads specialized classes designed for breast cancer survivors and lymphedema prevention.
