Approximately eighty percent of the population could benefit from orthotics to correct the dysfunction present in the arches of their feet. Uncorrected, this leads to chronic back, knee, hip and foot pain as well as headaches, poor posture and degenerative changes. In addition, your athletic performance, whether competitive or recreational, will be affected. Certified by the Canadian Institute of Biomechanics, Dr. Zielonka can take the guesswork out of orthotics by utilizing the TQ1000 Laser (the only one in Ottawa), and the TOG Gaitscan (the most advanced computerized gait analysis in existence).
Selecting the correct orthotics
When the proper orthotic has been selected for you, a world of difference can occur. This is especially true for active people and/or for those who have had difficulty with orthotics in the past.
Selecting the right orthotic begins with consultation by Dr. Zielonka (certified by the Canadian Institute of Biomechanics in diagnosis and fitting of custom made orthotics,) and his well trained, qualified team of assistants. A wide selection of samples are available for viewing in our office from our specialized labs in Toronto. Our state-of-the-art TQ1000 laser (the only one of it's kind in Ottawa) is then used to quantify the exact degree of overpronation and your need for orthotics. Our TQ1000 Laser is also used after your orthotics are completed to ensure they are providing the necessary correction, support and comfort.
How do you get Orthotics?
To get fitted for custom-made orthotics, you will need to book an appointment with Dr. Zielonka through his staff as indicated below.

- View our custom-made orthotic samples and discuss their use with Dr. Zielonka's staff at no cost or obligation.
- Get tested on the TQ1000 Laser for a fee of $35 or on the TOG Gaitscan or Footmaxx scan for $99 to quantify your need for custom-made orthotics. (Should you purchase orthotics from us, this fee will be credited towards the purchase price.)
- Have your current orthotics tested on our TQ1000 Laser to determine their current effectiveness for a fee of $35. (Should you purchase orthotics from us, the $35 fee will be credited towards the purchase price.)
